On October 29, 2021, at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the “I Republican Convention for teachers of preschool education institutions” will be held, organized within the framework of the “Marathon of Olympic Education” project.

Throughout 2021, the Belarusian Olympic Academy carried out a large-scale project “Marathon of Olympic Education” aimed at shaping preschool children with an initial understanding of the Olympic movement and the development of moral consciousness and emotional-volitional personality traits. Teachers of preschool education institutions from all over the Republic have joined the activities of the project.

Project activities included:

• conducting 10 physical education classes using a new effective methodology “Who is a real athlete?”
• staged theatrical play “Olympic Performance”;
• an online seminar for teachers of preschool education institutions, in which the author of the methodology spoke in detail about the specifics of conducting classes and answered all the questions of the participants;
• creation of an Olympic photo zone on the basis of a preschool education institution as part of the Tokyo 2020 creative photo competition.

All project materials were developed by the Belarusian Olympic Academy and are freely available on the website (link).

In the project’s boundaries:

• 68 educational institutions conducted physical culture lessons according to the author’s methodology and organized the staging of the “Olympic performance”;
• 75 educational institutions took part in the creative photo competition “Tokyo 2020”;
• More than 35 educational institutions took part in all the activities of the project.

It was the representatives of the most active preschool education institutions who took part in all the activities of the project who received an invitation to the event “I Republican Convention”, which will be held at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee. The program of the Convention includes educational workshops and lectures.

At 15.00, the solemn part of the Convention will take place, at which the Belarusian Olympic Academy will sum up the results of the project and hold a solemn awarding ceremony for the project participants and laureates of the Tokyo 2020 photo contest.

The Belarusian Olympic Academy expresses its deep gratitude to all the participants of the “Marathon of Olympic Education” project. All educational institutions that took part in the project will receive an electronic certificate confirming their participation.
